The importance of having inspiring people around
Today I met my friend Federica at her house. We have known each other for years but actually we became close friends few months ago. Every time that I spend time with Fede I come back home full of ideas. This is the reason for this post.
I love writing, it's my passion but it is also the most painful way to express what I think or what I feel. It's almost a year that I haven't written something publicly and this is the first online post after all this time. I passed through a tough moment and I was stock. I didn't even recognize who I was. So, I decided to change everything and I started the hardest trip that I've ever done before. During this one-year journey I understood that my world made up of concerts, alcohol, fake friends and untrue love was only a tiny, little space in a huge universe. I met new wonderful people so inspiring for me. People that have something to say, friends that always teach me interesting and powerful things.
So, today I met Federica and we went to a fabulous place that looks like Hogwarts in Bassano del Grappa, we drunk a caramello coffee and we spent the afternoon in a library. Over the those hours she kept taking about stories, characters, places, even about rabbit fangs.
When I came back home I found in my email box a video that she sent me one hour before. It was a speech by Lisa Congdon followed by this message "She inspires me all the time". I pushed the play button and after ten minutes I started writing this post.
I will not tell you what Lisa Congdon says in that video (you can watch it here) but I will write how important it is have friends like Federica in our lives and how it is important to believe their words when they say "You worth it, you can do it".
I don't know if this is the beginning of a long list of posts but it's the first step for sure.
Marika.
